Randall Ware Morris

Born on March 5, 1935, in Union County, North Carolina, Randall was the son of the late Luther (Buster) Ware Morris and Ida Alice McKinney Morris. Randall proudly served his country for more than 20 years in the United States Army Reserves. A hardworking and dependable man, he spent his life providing for his family through a variety of occupations. He worked at Monroe Hardware for more than 20 years, retired from Eaton Corporation, and was a lifelong farmer. His integrity, dedication, and strong work ethic earned the respect and admiration of everyone who knew him. Above all, Randall was a devoted husband, father, paw paw, and friend. For 70 years, he shared a loving marriage with his beloved wife, Hazel. He was known for his quick wit, generous heart, and deep Christian faith, which guided every aspect of his life. Randall found great joy in gardening and took pride in caring for the land. He loved spending time with his family, and the memories they shared together will be treasured for generations to come. In addition to his parents, Randall was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Morris Lathan, and her husband, Sam Lathan. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 70 years, Hazel Maxine Floyd Morris; his daughters, Robin Brandt (David) of Monroe and Amanda Morrow (Darin) of Pawleys Island, SC; his adored grandchildren, Madelyn and Matthew Combs; and many other beloved relatives and dear friends. His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Altan Presbyterian Church, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Bob Childs and Rev. Jeff Chadwick. Burial will follow in the Altan Presbyterian Church Cemetery with full military honors rendered in recognition of Randall's faithful service to his country. Following the burial, the family will welcome everyone to the church's fellowship hall for a visitation and a reception, celebrating Randall's life. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for the many prayers, kind expressions of sympathy, and acts of kindness shown during this difficult time. Your love and support have been a great source of comfort and are deeply appreciated. The family also extends their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of Atrium Health Jesse Helms Nursing Center for the compassionate care, kindness, and support they provided to Randall and his family.
