Myra Eudy Almond

Myra Eudy Almond, 56, of Albemarle, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at New Vine Baptist Church, with Pastor Keith Menius officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Myra was born June 12, 1970, to the late Sheila Eudy and Ray Eudy, who survives her. She is lovingly survived by her husband of four years, Junior Almond; her daughters, Samantha Smith (Chris), Jessica Maine (Matthew), Amanda Almond, and Dakota Almond; her grandchildren, Levi, Remington, Madilyn, and Nova Leigh; her siblings, Chris Eudy (Rita), Caitlin Eudy, and Charlie Eudy (Amanda); and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special friends, Keri Tucker, Rhonda Morton, and Felicia Almond. In addition to her mother, Myra was preceded in death by her son, Randy Smith. Myra was a devoted mother whose love extended far beyond her own family. She was affectionately considered a mom to many and was known for her kind and generous heart. If someone needed help, Myra was always willing to lend a hand in any way she could. She had a special way of making people feel loved and remembered, and nearly everyone in her life had a nickname lovingly given to them by Myra. She enjoyed spending time at the beach and was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. Above all, Myra treasured the people she loved. She faced a long battle with cancer with tremendous strength and determination, surrounded throughout her journey by family and friends who loved her dearly. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Atrium Cabarrus Hospice, the staff of Tucker Hospice House, and the many friends who offered their love, care, and support during Myra’s declining health. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Vine Baptist Church, 711 Rogers Street, Albemarle, NC 28001. Myra leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, strength, and a love that reached far beyond the walls of her home. Though her presence will be deeply missed, the nicknames she gave, the memories she made, and the love she so freely shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Her family finds comfort in knowing that a life so deeply loved will never truly be forgotten.
