John Paul Schadt, 76, of Albemarle, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Tucker Hospice House, surrounded by the love of his family. A funeral service to celebrate John's life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care of Albemarle, Pastor Adam Hatley officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m., prior to the service. Born on March 30, 1950, in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, John was the beloved son of the late John and Ruth Schadt. John shared 33 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Linda Schadt, who was always, in his eyes, his beautiful bride. John lived for his Linda, cherishing every moment they spent together and loving her with a devotion that never wavered. She was his greatest source of joy, strength, and purpose. In addition to his beloved wife, he is lovingly survived by his children, Jackie Schadt (Whitney), Jennifer Holtzman (Rick), Stephen Parker (Kristie), Danny Schadt (Blair), and Brandon Ballard (Tara); his cherished grandchildren, Zac, Jayden, Devon, Samantha (Corey), Bryson, Rae, Mazie, Lillie, Sanford, Izabella, Hailey, Amos, and Andrew; his beloved great-grandchildren, Saylor, Bryar, and Hazel; and his brother, Bobby Schadt (Jackie). He also leaves behind numerous extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Schadt. John was truly larger than life. A man of tremendous strength, both physically and in character, his presence could fill any room. In his younger years, he was a competitive powerlifter whose determination and discipline reflected the way he approached every aspect of life. Whether testing his strength in competition or enjoying the thrill of drag racing, John embraced every challenge with confidence and courage. Throughout his career, John was a respected and dedicated business owner who led by example. He genuinely cared for those he worked alongside and was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer guidance, or encourage an employee in need. His fairness, generosity, and genuine concern for others earned him the respect and admiration of all who had the privilege of working with him. While John was known for his incredible strength and commanding presence, those who knew him best also knew his unforgettable sense of humor. He had a quick wit, loved to joke with family and friends, and had a way of making people laugh when they needed it most. John was an entertaining character to be around, often becoming the center of attention with his stories, playful personality, and contagious laughter. His ability to bring joy to others was just as memorable as his strength. More than his accomplishments, John will be remembered as the unwavering protector and provider of his family. Fiercely loyal and deeply devoted, he loved with his whole heart. John lived for his Linda; his beloved bride; and through every season of life she remained the center of his world. He carried the burdens of those he loved without hesitation and never backed down from adversity. To his family, he was their rock; the one whose strength gave them confidence, whose wisdom offered guidance, and whose love provided security. His legacy is not only found in the life he lived, but in the strength, perseverance, laughter, and unconditional love he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the ICU staff at Atrium Health Cabarrus for the exceptional care, compassion, and support they provided to John and his loved ones during his illness. Though John's powerful presence will be deeply missed, the strength he shared, the love he gave, and the example he set will remain a lasting part of the lives he touched. His family will forever carry forward the lessons he taught, the courage he inspired, and the unwavering love he so freely gave. While his voice has grown silent, his legacy will continue to echo through generations, reminding all who knew him that true strength is measured not only by one's power, but by the depth of one's love and the lives made better because they were blessed to know him.
