Linda Smith

Mrs. Linda Carol Presley Smith, age 73, of Wingate, NC, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Atrium Union. A memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Linda and Joel Smith will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 2:00pm in the H. Vann Davis III Memorial Chapel at Davis Funeral Service; 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC 28112. Linda was born on May 11, 1948 in Union County, NC, a daughter of the late Amos Presley and Grace Price Presley. As the only child, Linda learned quickly the importance and bond of family and carried that with her throughout her life. She loved her husband and family unconditionally and always put their needs before her own. As proud as she was of her three sons, Micca was the daughter she never had. Their bond through cooking, movies, and conversations over dinner was one of a kind. Linda's grandchildren were the light of her life and nothing compared to her role as a grandmother. She enjoyed taking them shopping and could always be heard saying, "Oh Mama, go ahead and let them do it". Linda lived her life authentic to herself and instilled that throughout her family. She enjoyed farming and considered her cows her pets, even giving each of them a name. The unconditional love she poured out into all that knew her was best reciprocated by her beloved Chihuahua, Copper. She did not consider him a pet, but a fourth child and he accompanied her everywhere. Linda's time on this side of eternity has been completed, but her family will continue to hear the words, "I Got You", knowing she's still got each and every one of them. Linda's impact on the world was undeniable. Her loving, giving and mischievous spirit will continue to shine through all those that loved her. Those left to cherish and carry-on Linda's memory include her loving husband, Joel Ervin Smith; her son, Aaron Smith (Micca); her son, Michael "Mike" Smith (Robin); her son, Christopher Smith; her six grandchildren: Justin "Bubba" Smith (Gracie), Makayla Smith; Elizabeth Smith; Nicholas Smith; Jacob Smith; Madison Smith; and her beloved companion, Copper.
